Community Opportunity: Open Road Fund

The Open Road Fund is a unique wealth-building initiative that provides $50,000 gifts to eligible Black residents in Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota. The fund was created to help create pathways toward economic opportunity, prosperity, healing, and intergenerational wealth building for descendants of the Transatlantic Slave Trade.

Applications for the Open Road Fund open annually on Juneteenth, June 19, and remain open through late July.

Applicants must:
- Be a Black person who is a descendant of African people who were kidnapped and subjected to chattel enslavement in the Americas.
- Be 14 years of age or older.
- Reside in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, or one of the 23 Native Nations whose territories are located within those states.
