Hello CookboyzMSP,

What a delightful evening for Cookboyz last night. We had our typical 25 wonderful people. Sunny afternoon sky led to a calm cool evening with a backyard fire pit roaring. It was delightful. Thank you Steve Ahola for hosting your third May Day before mother’s day Cookboyz. We had great weather 3 years in a row at Steve’s. I hope your mother can join us next year.

Our June 13 Cookboyz is Picnic Foods. Let’s serve up a picnic feast….use your creative genius. Let’ hope for some summer weather, wine, delicious foods, and handsome guests.

Walk up the driveway to the back yard garage area…..Paul will have set up for our event.

Parking in the area is not easy. Paul recommends parking across the freeway on La Salle Ave at Plymouth Congregational Church. There are also some parking ramps in the area, a few blocks away.

No parking in the driveway, for safety of guests.

START TIMES: We have a social hour with appetizers, if any, from 6pm to 7pm then introductions and food. We typically wrap up between 8 and 10 pm.

HOSTING: November 2026 and much of 2027 are open for hosting. The host may change the food theme. If you are able to host an event please contact me at Jerome S Hager via Facebook messenger or at Jerome.s.Hager at gmail. A typical month is about 20 to 30 people. Hosting details are included later in this note.

COOKBOYZMSP RULES:
Attendees are expected to bring a food dish to share and a bottle of wine, if you plan to drink, but please do not feel intimidated by the theme. Bring whatever food you are comfortable making or buying (from a really good deli, store, or restaurant.)
**If it is your first CookboyzMSP event, bringing only a bottle of wine is just fine. Enjoy the food as our guest. But, if you wish to bring a dish, please do.
**Stay in area of the home/yard the host has set up for the Cookboyz event.. Do not "tour" the host's home unless invited to do so by the host.

Cookboyz Membership:
CookboyzMSP was originally established for Gay, Bi, and Trans men and their allies. We are open to all GLTQ+ and allies so long as they do not vote Republican. Please ask new members to add their own names to the mailing list directly on Google Groups under CookboyzMSP and/or to "like" CookboyzMSP on Facebook. You can also respond to this email with new members email address and I would be glad to add them.

Hosting a Cookboyz event:
If you have enough space please consider hosting a Cookboyz event. The host may change the theme. The host supplies non alcoholic drinks such as water, napkins, plastic stuff including dinner plates, desert plates, forks, spoons, knives, serving utensils, trash containers, name tags, wine bottle opener, bottle opener, a couple very large tables for food, and large trash & recycle containers. Set up is easy...clean up a bit more work, but take your pick of the men and ask for help. We typically get around 20 to 40 wonderful men at each event. Larger party rooms at condo or apartment buildings work great for hosting Cookboyz. If you have access to this type of space please consider hosting.

Hello CookboyzMSP,

Hosting: We have November this year open for hosting…if you can host please send me an email. Jerome.s.hager at gmail.com. I have added 2027 months for hosting. Thank you to our amazing hosts.

Our next event is May 9th Mother’s Day weekend event is back in Robinsdale. Steve has hosted the last couple years in his back yard and we had fabulously warm Spring weather. Let’s hope for a repeat this year. Steve’s fabulous mother is in town for Mother’s Day and graces us with her attendance…what a lovely woman.

Our theme is Quiches and Pies for this Mother’s Day weekend feast. Naturally related items like fruit salads, etc are also welcome. Let’s serve up an amazing evening brunch for Steve and his mom (if I remember, her name is Betty as in Betty Boop). We set up in Steve’s gorgeous back yard.

What a delightful evening last night at Way Cool Cooking school in St Paul. We had about 20 men with many crock pots and 4 jambalaya dishes plus a smattering of other delicious foods. Yummy evening. Thank you Rob Williams for hosting in your new cooking school location. What a beautiful space. It was wonderful. Thank you.
