Road closure on 3rd Avenue in Minneapolis begins June 1

Crews have wrapped up installing a new sewer system near the intersection of Franklin Avenue (County Road 5) and 5th Avenue in South Minneapolis.

Starting on Monday June 1, crews will continue installing a new sewer system and will be shifting work to 3rd Avenue.

Here’s what you can expect:
Monday, June 1 through Friday, June 19
- Northbound 3rd Avenue will be closed from Franklin Avenue to 19th Street.
- The detour route for this closure is 24th Avenue, Nicollet Avenue, Grant Street, and 2nd Avenue.

Dates are tentative and subject to change.
