Math Corps

We're proud to partner with Jefferson Elementary in Winona, Minnesota, and to be welcomed by the entire school community! "I have had multiple teachers tell me how excited their students are for their Reading Corps and Math Corps time," says Stacy Rasmussen, the District's Title 1 Coordinator and Internal Coach for both tutoring programs. A school partner for over a decade, Reading Corps tutors have served more than 450 students who need a boost in reading. In 2023, Jefferson Elementary added Math Corps, bringing extra math practice to 163 students!

We are grateful for every tutor who has served at Jefferson Elementary, including this past year's team, Alisa, Kaitlyn, Dan, and Oliver. An additional thank you to Stacy and Principal Emily Cassellius for your support as we continue this impactful work!

Jefferson Elementary School - WAPS

David joined Math Corps when he became curious about pursuing a degree in education. A father and youth soccer coach, his passion for working with kids led him to an opportunity as a Math Tutor in Fairbault, Minnesota.

David says his favorite part of service is seeing his students improve their math skills. He will return as a Math Tutor this fall in his third year of service and hopes to secure a teaching license or an educational administration degree in the future!
