OMEED

OMEED started a "food for scholars" project 2 years ago where poor families with school age children were donated monthly rations of food staples, flour, rice, cooking oil, assorted lentils, sugar, tea, dried milk, basic spices, tooth paste and a disinfectant, Dettol. The only stipulation was to keep their children in school. Noticing the success of this project we have been increasing the number of families every year. A typical monthly supply to be picked up by the family. Adjustments are made according to the family size and needs.

More school books have been added for children grades 5 to 8. Change of syllabus is being contemplated by the education department. OMEED will donate the books accordingly for next year.
