3/21 is designated as World Down Syndrome Day because Down Syndrome, also known as Trisomy 21, means there are 3 copies of the 21st chromosome!

Happy 7th birthday to our sweet miracle boy, Richard! 🥳
Little did we know 7 years ago how much our lives would change when you came into the world 5 weeks early. You have grown so much and continue to amaze us every day!
We love you big boy!
❄️Saturday travel day!
❄️Normally we travel to the next campground on Sundays. We were supposed to leave Alabama and just barely cross the border into South Carolina, however with the snow storm expected to hit the Carolinas this weekend, we decided to leave a day early and not travel as far.
❄️When we left today (Saturday) and it was very cold and windy but, thankfully, we didn't really see snow until crossing into Georgia. There were flurries and sunshine at times (but no "snow-bow"❄️🌈? Lol) and because it was so cold and windy there was not a lot of accumulation. As we got closer into Atlanta there was definitely snow on the ground but our campground was only about 10 min outside Atlanta so thankfully, not too bad!
Now we have to decide if we're staying here until Saturday (for one week) or trying to move early on a weekday before Katie works since we're in Eastern Time zone now...

There are many health conditions associated with DS and Richard is no exception. He was born also with Esophageal Atresia and spent the first 214 days of his life in the hospital. He has had a feeding tube since about 2 weeks old and continues to work on feeding by mouth. He also has lung damage and gets breathing treatments twice/day! He has sleep apnea and reflux. He probably sees over 20 specialists and providers for his medical care.
