Raquel Loredo graduated from University of California, Davis with a BS in animal science. Right after graduating she worked with exotic animals doing educational presentations for kids before starting her career in the Veterinary field. She obtained her RVT license in 2009 and started working at a specialty and emergency hospital in 2011 where she fell in love with neurology. In 2017, she achieved her VTS certification in Neurology. Raquel has 3 daughters as well as with her fur babies; a French Bulldog, Pug and 2 cats.

Welcome Michelle M. Capps, BA, CVT, VTS (Surgery) to the VetTechLife CE on the Sea 2027 Mexico cruise lineup!

Michelle Capps graduated from Camden County College's Veterinary Technology program in Blackwood, New Jersey, and obtained her certification. Additionally, Michelle attended Rowan University, where she was an honors graduate and
received a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree with a minor in Biological Sciences.
Michelle has been affiliated with the University of Pennsylvania Ryan Veterinary Hospital since 2012 and serves as the surgery supervisor. Her professional interests include Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS), feline renal transplantation, and
ureteral surgery. She also enjoys lecturing, assisting with data collection for veterinary research, and writing for publication. Michelle earned her Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS) credentials in Surgery in 2023 and has since guided
candidates applying to the Academy of Veterinary Surgical Technicians (AVST) through the mentorship program. She is currently serving her first term on the AVST executive board.
