The Magic Raid has officially begun for a Foster Care party with my assistant Claira Bell!

Primrose the Fairy gets very good points and speaks for our deaf community! I hope I meet her someday at a Renaissance Faire event and I would give her a hug and talk in ASL with her!

I’m not part of the Deaf community and cannot teach ASL. It is best to learn from the Deaf community 🫶

I mostly interact with hearing people who don’t know ASL so I do a lot of “signed exact English” when I am performing. ASL is structured differently than English.

I primarily learn ASL from Deaf friends, Lifeprint, and Lingvano.

I know you’re all probably tired of me always posting this reminder, and if you are I’m sorry 😭 but I do feel this is important information and every time I post it there are people seeing it for the first time.

Recently I was asked to lead an ASL class and I said no no no that would be inappropriate of me I can’t do that, and told the person to speak with the interpreters we had at the festival to help find someone in the Deaf community who is qualified to teach.

ASL isn’t a trend, it’s a beautiful language.
