Beth Hartwig of Menomonee Falls is preparing to run the upcoming Boston Marathon with thoughts of the lives lost there 10 years ago. In 2013, she finished in 3:28.55 and waited for her brother, a Wauwatosa resident. He was 100 feet past the finish line when they heard the explosion. (JS subscriber content)

After running in the 2013 Boston Marathon, this Menomonee Falls mom is running again to pay tribute 'to the lives lost' Beth Hartwig is training for the 2023 Boston Marathon 10 years after the bombing. She will be raising money for the Rebekah's Angels Foundation.

Race director’s update: We had a blast bringing back TosaFest 5K in 2018 and 2019 and will be looking at options for a revamped race in 2022. The race, however, will not take place this year. Instead, we encourage you to sign up for Run Tosa Run on Sept. 18, brought to you by Tosa East Towne Neighborhood Association and organized by some of us who have worked on TosaFest 5K in recent years. The Run Tosa Run 5K price increases Aug. 1, so reserve your spot today.

Run Tosa Run 5K Run Tosa Run is a 5k run/walk and half-mile kids' run through the beautiful tree-lined streets of the Tosa East Towne neighborhood.

Thanks to everyone who came out for TosaFest 5K on a great evening for racing. Caleb Abfall won the men’s race in 16:12 and Acacia Dishman won the woman’s race in 19:01. We appreciate the lead support of Ripple Effect Fitness and WaterStone Bank and the top-notch shirts and design work of Zack Goehner and Jim Phillips, LLC. Wings of Glory Track Club is our charity partner and helped with volunteers along the course. We’ll have an update soon on our donation to their great team.

The tents are going up at Hart Park in Wauwatosa. Our 5K is Saturday, but you don’t have to wait until then to enjoy music at TosaFest, which starts later today.
