You have two upcoming chances to see Low Brass Instructor Mr. Burns performing with local ensembles:
On Saturday Jan. 24 at 2:00pm, come hear the Festival City Symphony play Schubert’s “Great” C Major Symphony in the beautiful Bradley Symphony Center in downtown Milwaukee. Written but never published during his lifetime, this symphony was discovered by Felix Mendelssohn and performed for the first time after Schubert’s untimely death at the age of 31. Free concert with suggested donation!

Then the following weekend, Mr. Burns and other members of the Kettle Moraine Symphony will be joining live actors in a staged performance of Stravinsky’s “The Soldier’s Tale.” Written in 1918, this piece tells the story of a young solider who trades his violin to the devil in exchange for endless wealth and knowledge. Stravinsky’s music is ahead of its time, blending different styles such as klezmer, ragtime, and tango. There are three performances: Saturday Jan. 31 at 3:00pm and 7:00pm, and Sunday Feb. 1 at 2:00pm. All are at the Kettle Moraine Playhouse in Slinger, WI. Tickets will go fast!
