National Science Foundation (NSF) 75th ANNIVERSARY STEM DAY: May 10th, 2025 from 10am-4pm

A city-wide celebration of WaterMarks and NSF!!

Seven locations at six of our neighborhood sites plus Milwaukee Public Museum! Jump on and off the free shuttle bus or walk/bike to any of the stops! Art, science, and free family fun for our entire community!

We can’t wait to see you all there!!!

Do you know where all our WaterMarkers are?

Our first Marker went up back in 2018 at Acosta Middle School. The letter was chosen by students and community members, not just for Acosta but for Agua, Aquatic, Arts, A+!

The next three, Ñ, G and H came in 2023 across from Pulaski Park, at Green Tech Station and in Harbor View Plaza.

Last month, we installed a second H along the Beerline Trail in Harambee/Riverwest. And then just this week we installed L in Lindsay Heights, C in Melvina Park and W in downtown Wisconsin — and the W is a part of !

We’ve had various funding sources through the years but are currently funded by a grant that has supported the installation of some of these markers (as well as markers to come) while also helping to support activities in our existing neighborhoods!

Join us this Saturday, October 12 on a walking tour of Grasslyn Manor and learn about how water affects the neighborhood, including the community efforts behind, “Help Build the Ark Water Management Project!”

Artist and Sherman Park neighbor, Debbie Sajnani will be leading the walk along with Milwaukee Water Storyteller, Michael Timm. They will be discussing the history of how and why water affects our area and ways that we can rally to reduce flooding.

We’ll be starting the walk at Albright United Methodist Church at 1pm!
Following the walk, we will have refreshments and will be hosting an optional post-walk focus group. This is a chance for community members to discuss what they have learned and give feedback. A $25 gift card will be provided for your participation/feedback in the focus group.
