We are now Trusty Shellbacks! An honor bestowed on us after having crossed the Equator onboard the ship yesterday. 😄

As passengers, we were not required to participate in Neptune’s Ceremony for crew members who were experiencing their first Equatorial crossing at sea. They found themselves publicly celebrated, covered in colored meringue and dunked in the midship pool on the Lido Deck. (The pool was drained and cleaned after the ceremony.)

Now, we are more than 5 degrees into the Southern Hemisphere. This cruise brought me the furthest West (Kauai) I’ve ever been and Karl his furthest South.
