With the number of missed appointments over the last couple of months, I’ve had to start enforcing one of my not-so-fun policies.

Moving forward, anyone who no-shows or doesn’t reschedule at least 24 hours before their appointment will be charged for the missed service. We need adequate time to contact clients on the waiting list — when we’re not given that time, we lose both the opportunity to fill your spot and a portion of our income.

I completely understand that life happens and unexpected situations come up, and I truly empathize when they do. Please be mindful of your upcoming appointments and check your text or email reminders. Thank you so much for your understanding and support!

If you are booked to see your stylist in the month of December, on behalf of every stylist in the industry I am respectfully here with a very important PSA to encourage all of the fortunate clients who can afford professional hair care services to keep in mind that this time of year for us is the equivalent of your CPA’s tax season.

Not only are the vast majority of us double or triple booked all day every day but a lot of us don’t get a chance to take breaks or eat lunch (even if we mark out time with a plan to take a few minutes for nourishment) we all have personal lives, most of us have children, some of us are divorced and have to manage co-parenting, some of us are single parents, not every stylist has the same support system that you may have.

In addition to salon duties and regular responsibilities in our own personal lives at home; there’s also holiday parties, family get togethers, school events for our children, and some may even have doctor appointments.

Before you get to your hair appointment, take a moment to think about how you’re “getting” to receive a luxury salon service from your stylist who is there for you to help you look and feel your best during the holiday season. Even if they are worn out and need their own self-care moment, they are still there, tired or not, hungry or not, and/or worried about their own children or not. They are still up behind that chair ready for you.

Extending a little grace goes a long way and takes so much pressure off your stylist who’s most likely already been feeling stressed and/or worn out before they even got to work.

Remember to be patient with us, what’s going on in the salon, and be prepared to potentially have unusual wait times. Some days things occur that are out of our control.

Most importantly please don’t forget it’s the most wonderful time of the year but it’s also a very short period of time. We’re all gonna blink and it’s going to 2024.

Being a rooty blonde means you are not wanting any depth (darkness / natural hair) through the hair except for the top. This requires for your part— more time in salon, frequent visits, & taking care of your hair MORE THAN A TYPICAL BALAYAGE.

If you are going over 3-4 months (some recommend 6-8 weeks) for your retouches, you are no longer a retouch.. you are a color correction 🫠 & the longer you wait for a touch up, the higher the chance there is banding, breakage, & resistance.

If you currently are a rooty blonde & you are going longer than 4 months (due to budget, time restraints, breakage, etc.), try transitioning to a more dimensional balayage that will give you more time in between appointments for touch ups. Your hair & your hairstylist will thank you later 🫶🏼
