A few tips for you all that I found on another page but it’s all good info.
RV Air Conditioner’s and Fridges this weeks heat and humidity will be hard on them.
Rv Air Conditioner’s can usually only drop air temperature about 20 degrees max and only when it is operating in perfect conditions. To help make that happen:
Park in the shade
Clean the filters and fins/coils
Keep exterior doors shut
Block direct sun light in vents and windows
no cooking in the rv
Keep lights off or switch to LED
Run fans, the key is moving air which fights humidity
Rv fridges are absorption fridges not compressor driven like your home fridge. They require a heating and cooling process to function properly. With high heat thr cooling can be hindered and affects the fridges ability to work properly. Here are a few tips.
Set the thermostat properly on the fridge fins
Do not over load the fridge or freezer; try not to load items against the back and side walls.
Limit opening and closing doors.
If you find it is struggling to cool remove the outside lower cover allowing more air in. You may actually have to put a tiny fan in to help move air up thru the back of fridge. Keep weather in mind and put outside cover back on when weather is going bad. Keep in mind this is a last resort and should be used sparingly as it allows flying insects like dirt dobbers and wasp easy access.
