Help protect our families, our water, and our environment by safely disposing of old or unwanted medications. Midland County’s Clear the Clutter event is helping us take back medications that could be misused or harm children, pets, and wildlife if left unsecured.

What to bring: Old or unwanted prescription meds, over-the-counter meds, vitamins, and medication containers
What not to bring: syringes/sharps , radioactive materials, or liquids
Why disposing medications properly matters:
Prevents accidental poisoning and overdoses at home
Reduces the risk of drug misuse and diversion, especially among children and teens
Protects local waterways and ecosystems from pharmaceutical contaminants

Tossing your trash into the recycling bin is like giving pollution a swift kick in the pants and saving energy for more fun things—like powering your laptop for over a day with just 10 plastic bottles! If you’re in Midland and keen to join the eco-warriors, here’s where you can strut your recycling stuff:

Butt's Recycling Center at 26 W. Industrial Loop, open Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Citizens Collection Station at 4100 Smith Road, open Tuesday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

So, go on, be a recycling superhero! 🌎♻️

The Midland County Horseshoe is collecting non-perishable food donations for the
West Texas Food Bank now through November 17.

You can drop off donations at designated bins inside the Horseshoe Pavilion.
