🩷 The Glowing Rose 🩷
Sotheby’s will offer a pink diamond ring it expects to achieve around $20 million at its upcoming jewelry sale in Geneva.
Making its way to the auction block for the first time, the cushion brilliant-cut, 10.08-carat, fancy-vivid-pink diamond ring will be the star of the November 12 High Jewelry sale, Sotheby’s said Thursday. The cut, recently popularized by Taylor Swift’s engagement ring, is an important aspect of the ring, being only the third cushion-cut, vivid-pink diamond over 10 carats to come to auction in the past 10 years, Sotheby’s explained.
Called the Glowing Rose, after its luminous and pure pink color, the diamond was set into a ring by Boodles. The diamond originated from a 21-carat rough recovered in Angola in 2023, Sotheby’s stated.
The cushion modified brilliant-cut Fancy Vivid Pink diamond weighing 10.08 carats.
Accompanied by GIA report no. 6233701969, dated 12 September 2025, stating that the diamond is Fancy Vivid Pink, Natural Colour, VVS2 Clarity, Excellent Polish and Symmetry, together with a type IIa classification letter.
The colour pink spontaneously conjures images of lush Spring flowers, dramatic sunsets on warm summer evenings, nostalgic children's toys and a frothy strawberry parfait. This prized colour is inherently linked to all things joyful we hold dear to our hearts. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that pink diamonds have held a special fascination throughout human history.
The Glowing Rose, an exceptional 10.08 carat Fancy Vivid Pink diamond, is poetically named for its glowing blush rose hue. This magnificent diamond combines the rare traits of displaying a soft, delicate tone, while at the same time being most vividly saturated. The Glowing Rose shines its inner light with all the vibrancy and ethereal mystique of a rose kissed by dewdrops.
The Glowing rose is accompanied by a bespoke presentation ring mount created by the family-owned British heritage jeweller Boodles who excels at mounting rare and exceptional coloured diamonds.

“Looking Through My Loupe”
🟩 🟢 It’s Emerald Month💚
Here is a great read about shipwrecks and treasures!
Lost in the sea for 363 years, the emeralds of the Atocha shipwreck were recovered in 1985 by treasure hunter Mel Fisher. His team found 70 pounds of emeralds and several tons of silver off the coast of Florida!
The team submitted seven emerald crystals, an emerald and gold rosary and other treasures to GIA for analysis.
Upon careful examination, GIA researchers determined the emeralds to be Colombian in origin.
One Atocha treasure that made the headlines was a 5.27-carat emerald that was later set in this charming ring after being recovered.
The CEO of Perdue Farms, who funded the shipwreck exploration, kept only this emerald as payment, so he could propose to his wife with it.
After he passed away, his wife sold the emerald at auction for a charitable cause. It fetched around $1.2 million in 2022.
Have you ever seen jewelry recovered from a shipwreck? I have other shipwreck treasure stories to follow.
