At 5:40 am Jim passed away peacefully and without pain. I want to let everyone know that I have appreciated all the thoughts and prayers over the last few days and weeks. He was a precious man. He never met a stranger. He was always quick with a story and a smile. The next few days will be a blur but I can say that I'm so glad he doesn't have to suffer anymore. He is in God's care and meeting his family that have gone on before. I will post again when the final arrangements are made.

From our friends at Hauser Heating and Air 513-777-7979

Turning on your heat for the first time and notice an unexpected burning smell coming from your vents?

No, you're not imagining it – most furnaces do smell a bit like burnt toast when homeowners first turn them on for the winter season.

There are a few reasons why this could happen:
1. When was the last time you changed your air filter? A dirty air filter can cause your furnace to overheat and produce a burning smell.
2. If it's been months since you last turned on your furnace, you may find parts and pieces have shifted during the off-season.
3. In the off-season, your system also collects dust, and those particles burn off the first time you switch on your furnace. This is the leading cause of the initial/temporary burning smell floating throughout your home.

When turning your furnace on for the first time, you can expect a burning smell likely caused by dust. Typically, this isn't a case where you should panic. If you feel that dust isn't your issue, don't hesitate to call us!

Every year on Memorial Day, we celebrate the official start of summer. What’s more, we pay homage to those who have given the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

This Memorial Day, as you enjoy a much-needed long weekend, join us in giving thanks and remembering the brave men and women in our Armed Forces who gave their lives so you and I can enjoy the simple things in life.

Happy Memorial Day to you and yours!
