Heat Wave Safety Reminder!
High temperatures are expected over the next several days. Please take a few simple steps to stay safe and help protect your family, friends, and neighbors.
Drink plenty of water, even if you don't feel thirsty.
Stay in air-conditioned buildings whenever possible.
Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing and limit strenuous outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day.
Use sunscreen and wear a hat if you'll be outside.
Never leave children, older adults, or pets in a parked vehicle—even for a minute. Temperatures inside a car can become dangerous very quickly.
Check on elderly neighbors, family members, and anyone who may be more vulnerable to extreme heat.
Know the signs of heat-related illness:
Heat exhaustion: Heavy sweating, weakness, dizziness, nausea, and cool, clammy skin. Move to a cool place, sip water, and seek medical attention if symptoms worsen.
Heat stroke: High body temperature, confusion, loss of consciousness, hot, dry skin (or heavy sweating), or seizures. Call 911 immediately. Heat stroke is a life-threatening emergency.
Stay hydrated, stay cool, and stay safe.

Middleton Engine-2 is currently assisting North Andover fire with station coverage during their working fire at 43 Woodbridge Road.
Just after 9:00 p.m. last evening, North Shore Regional 9-1-1 received multiple calls reporting a possible structure fire in the area of Sawyer Lane and Liberty Street. An all-tone was transmitted, bringing additional off-duty Middleton Fire personnel to the scene.
Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy fire coming from the attached garage of a single-family residence that had previously sustained a fire last week. Due to the extent of the fire, a third alarm was struck, bringing numerous mutual aid departments from surrounding communities to assist.
Following a lengthy and aggressive fire attack, crews successfully brought the fire under control. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The Middleton Fire Department extends its sincere appreciation to all of our mutual aid partners for their prompt response, professionalism, and assistance throughout this incident.
