Now through May 31st, we are partnering with the Idaho Transportation Department’s Office of Highway Safety (OHS) and law enforcement agencies across Idaho, urging drivers to buckle up. Our officers are part of a statewide enforcement effort, issuing citations to those not wearing their seat belt and educating Idahoans on the importance of all drivers and passengers buckling up.

This seat belt safety effort coincides with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Click It or Ticket campaign with law enforcement officers nationwide, as well as Memorial Day weekend – the first long weekend of the busy summer travel period.

According to OHS data, 87% of Idahoans are already making the safe choice to wear their seat belt.

Buckling up is the easiest thing you can do to protect yourself in a crash. It increases your chances of surviving by 50%. Make it a habit to buckle up every time!
