I have always been pretty lazy when it comes to cheese. But recently I started grating my own instead of the packages. I use the grater pictured. It makes so much difference in the taste and melting time, not to mention the lack of preservatives that were used in the packaged shredded cheese. If you don't grate your own, you might want to try. I recommend it.
