✅ What are NC Check-Ins?

NC Check-Ins are short, state-created assessments that help teachers see how students are progressing in reading, math, and 8th grade science. The assessments are aligned to North Carolina grade-level content standards and will provide a reliable estimate of students' current performance on the selected standards.

✅ Why are NC Check-ins Important?

Identify Strengths & Needs: Teachers see what skills students have mastered and where extra support is needed.

Guide Instruction: Results help teachers adjust lessons and plan small-group support.

Build Confidence: Students get familiar with the testing format, which likely reduces stress for future assessments.

Track Growth: Each Check-In shows progress throughout the year.

✅ Encourage your child to do his or her best — these Check-Ins are a great opportunity to show what they have already learned and what areas they may need additional support.
