I hope my obituary states how many times I’ve reached out for help, by the very trained professionals we’re told as kids are supposed to help us in crisis who have continued to turn their backs on me in the City of Joliet, Illinois, Government, I’m stuck in a marriage I can’t escape that’s mentally and physically abusive. Asking that adult in the house to do ANYTHING that a functional member of society would god damn do results in public outbursts, repeated physical fights, financial sabotage, and I’ve lost god damn everything. I can’t even get the as***le to stop going to Starbucks long enough to fu***ng be able to pay a fu***ng plumber and now we’re losing our god damn water.

In honor of “May the 4th be with you” I would like to say something intellectual for once.

The premise of the “force” is all the Jedis who went before you fighting against the evil empires.

But evil isn’t always a Death Star and lasers.
Evil can be systematic racism that person used their white privilege to stand against.

Evil can be the police harassing people of color who decide to rise up.

Evil can be the state government of Iowa trying to restrict medical access to trans people.

Evil can be saying racist, sexist, or anti-gay jokes in the workplace regardless of whom the audience is, and thinking its acceptable.

Evil can be CEO’s making billions, not paying taxes, and middle class and lower middle class struggling to make sure their kids have a better life than they did.

But the force, taught you all right from wrong. At the end of the day, it’s wrong that anyone is hungry in the richest country in the world, or that people are struggling do to tax & employment loop holes.

And somewhere, in a galaxy far far away, in a place that’s only a blurry dream, someone taught you right how to care for others, and fight for yourself, and for those who are unable to fight for themselves.

So may the FORCE be with all of you, in your journey, and in your conquests for justice.
