Heartbreaking News & Call for Help 🌳🌳🌳

The one-acre food forest & vegetable garden that Beacon School has been tending to for the last five years in Opalocka will become a parking lot. 💔 They have until July 15th to save the fruit trees, plants, and soil.

They will be transplanting everything to other schools & community gardens & need our help.

They have two upcoming volunteer opportunities to help them dig up plants & trees for their safe removal for transplant.

Tomorrow, July 5th, 9 am - 1 pm & Saturday, July 6th, 8 am - 2 pm

Support needed:
⚡️Volunteer Day helpers
🚚 A pickup truck or large vehicle to transport plants/equipment
🧤Borrowed shovels, machetes, chainsaws, pruners, gloves, bobcat, burlap.
💵 Donations to help them with the estimated $2500 cost of removing the larger 5-year-old fruit trees, which will require professionals & special machinery.
