Photographing weddings from other cultures always feels like such a privilege. I love witnessing and capturing the details of their unique rituals and traditions.

At Sasha & Shivan’s Trinidadian wedding, the thing that stood out as most unique to me was the process of getting the bride ready. It took a team of girls to get her jewelry on - headpieces, bracelets, and even clamping the ring to her nose (ouch!) - all before combining efforts to fasten her dress.

These moments before the ceremony can be chaotic behind the scenes (“Where’s grandma?” “Did my brother find parking?” “Has the catering arrived yet?” “The guys still aren’t ready. “We’re running behind schedule!”), but these ladies handled her with love and care.

In the end, it was clear that all the effort was worth it to see Shiv shed tears as he turned around and saw his bride for their “first look” 🤍 Look how cute they are in the last photo 🥲
