The Miami Lighthouse for the Blind Vision Solution Center is proud to offer Meta smart glasses to clients as an assistive technology device, adding to our extensive inventory of eye care products from the latest in assistive technology to solar shields, talking watches, eye healthcare products, and more! 🕶️🛍️⌚✎
Meta smart glasses support the independence of those who are blind and visually impaired by using AI to identify objects, read text, and describe surroundings via voice command.
They feature integrated cameras and audio for hands-free assistance, including direct, real-time video calls with volunteers through the Be My Eyes app. This is an exciting development for our visually impaired community! 👓

Miami Lighthouse Youth Music Program talent in action 🤩👏
We applaud the Miami Lighthouse Youth Music Program Summer Camp participants and instructors on an impressive and patriotic 5th of July performance in our Wildflower Gallery. Happy birthday, USA!
Joining our performers in celebrating America’s 250th Birthday, was an audience of fellow Miami Lighthouse program participants, members of our Adult and Senior Programs, who celebrated and sung along with students. 🎶
Our inclusive Youth Music Program Summer Camp brings together students who are visually impaired and sighted to learn and practice guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, violin, viola, cello, and vocal skills, together! This program reinforces the importance of music as a powerful tool: for education, self-expression, and most of all, community.
We are proud to welcome Silvio Plata, Miami Lighthouse Alumnus to our Youth Music Summer Program team as voice instructor, and so pleased he took to the stage to wow us with his incredible vocal skills.
We thank our students and instructors for sharing their incredible work with us!
Together, we prove it's possible to see without sight!™ 💙
Our Music Programs are made possible with support from the Florida Division of Blind Services, The Children's Trust, The Wildflower Foundation, National Endowment for the Arts, The Mockingbird Foundation, and more.

We welcomed Gloria Romero Roses to tour our facility during summer camps! Miami Lighthouse offers year-long programs for individuals who are visually impaired, from babies to seniors.
Pictured, Gloria Romero Roses smiles for the camera with Miami Lighthouse President & CEO Virginia Jacko while visiting our Pre-Employment Transition Program, which provides young adults ages 14-22 who are visually impaired with work, school, and life skill training.
During Gloria’s visit, students were learning how to write braille using electronic braille typewriters called “braillers”.
We thank Gloria for stopping by to shine a light on our inclusive programs! 🙏
