Featured at Tresart’s “Winter Show: Condo, Scharf, and Schnabel” Julian Schnabel (b. 1951) is a seminal artist who originally made his mark in the NY art scene in the 80s whose artistic practice continues to push the medium. His unorthodox, highly experimental approach to the use of materials, gestures, and form was pivotal in the reemergence of painting in the United States and the rest of the world in the late 1970s.
