Like so many of us, my childhood imagination was heavily shaped by the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I have vivid memories of spending hours trying to draw Leo, Mikey, Donnie, and Raph. Honestly, those early attempts at drawing the Turtles were crucial for me—they were how I learned the basics of character design, anatomy, and how to draw dynamic poses. They really helped refine my illustration skills from a young age.
Recently, I wanted to re-imagine that familiar story using new tools. By combining my own creative direction with Google Gemini A.I., I developed a different scenario for our favorite heroes.

Introducing: The Teenage Mutant Ninja Raccoons. 🦝

Why raccoons? It just made sense. They are already nimble garbage dwellers, which fits the original vibe perfectly. They also already wear natural masks, so I decided to just dye their hair the classic colors instead of using fabric masks. Plus, I’ve always loved the character Rocket from Guardians of the Galaxy, so he was definitely an influence here.

Since I loved drawing my own comics, I arranged these visuals in a comic book style format to tell their "origin story." It was a fun experiment mixing deep nostalgia with modern technology.

Check out the images below to see them before and after the ooze!
