The55Project Art Foundation is proud to announce that André Azevedo’s Tropical America (2024) has now joined the permanent collection of the Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM).

André was a resident at The55Project in 2024, in collaboration with El Espacio 23, and witnessing this journey from his residency with us to institutional acquisition is exactly what this program is about.

We are grateful to the Collectors Committee of The55Project and the board of PAMM for welcoming this piece into their collection.

We are pleased to welcome Josué Mattos as the curator for The55Project Art Foundation Patrons Trip to Milan and Venice 2026

Josué holds a degree in Art History and Archaeology from Université Paris X Nanterre, a Master’s in Contemporary Art History from the same institution, and a second Master’s in Curatorial Practices from Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (2009).

He will lead The55Project Art Foundation Patrons through the 61th Venice Biennale, complemented by in-depth discussions on contemporary art and a comprehensive immersion in art history, from classical antiquity and the Renaissance masters to the major movements of modernity. This historical journey will enrich the Biennale experience by establishing meaningful dialogues between past and present.

We look forward to sharing this unique experience.

Welcome,

Presented by The55Project Art Foundation and hosted by Fundación Pablo Atchugarry, the exhibition marks an important milestone in the ongoing collaboration between the two institutions.

Bringing together a diverse group of international artists, RE.IMAGINATION explores the cyclical nature of history and memory while expanding The55Project’s curatorial scope. The exhibition represents The55Project’s first group show featuring non-Brazilian artists, reinforcing its commitment to cross-cultural narratives, intertwined histories, and dialogues across geographies.
