Here are a few BTS photos and frames from a shoot we did for Artisans de Genève’s new project, the Turquoise Spider, which is a beautiful specialty customization for Rolex watches.

For anything like the craft of jewelry making or any fine craft, the little details are so important. We have to make sure to capture all the steps in detail in a way that is clear to the audience and also shows the craftsmanship and beauty of it whenever possible. Of course, that usually means a lot of macro - which I particularly enjoy.

Featuring the New Use Energy () battery to power our Aputure 600d which we were using as an additional backlight to add back in some light on the back shoulders which was taken away by putting a silk up to diffuse sunlight on our subject.

Spent a day courtside serving as DP for a college tennis athlete highlight video.

My job is to stay on top of things and be ready to capture the fleeting moments that help people feel what it was like to be there and tell the story effectively.

Sometimes, that means staying alert and focused for hours as someone does serve after serve. But that’s how you get the best shots. So many times, if you aren’t paying attention that is when the golden opportunity comes and goes before you are ready!

We recently wrapped shooting and post-production for a project for Bayer Vegetables called Growing Together: Behind the Scenes at Schaefer Farms.

Really grateful as always to be part of telling this series of stories. Sharing the story behind the work being done in agriculture and food production is humbling and highly educational. I learn something new every time.

What stood out to me during this shoot was how down-to-earth and kind the people were despite the huge responsibility on their shoulders.

As filmmakers, part of our job is to use our perspective to make the place, people, and acitivies being viewed feel real.

Good marketing materials can help people better understand the people, process, and purpose behind a company. It takes it from the theoretical to the real. Especially in industries where so much important work happens quietly in the background.

Looking forward to the next one!

I’m a cinematographer based in Arizona. I love capturing beautiful images that tell an effective story that ultimately gets the client results. When it comes to commercial and corporate work, the creative serves the business goals.

Shooting is maybe 50% of the job. The rest is problem solving, working with what you have, and being the kind of person people actually want on set when things go sideways.

I’m a sucker for any project with some adventure in it, action, post-apocalyptic, sci-fi… but honestly? I just like working on things with people who care about what they're making.

If you've got a project coming up and need someone behind the camera, hit me up. 🎬
