If the breath isn’t working, the movement won’t either…
remember to:
breathe into the ribs
keep the abdominals connected
don’t brace or hold
that’s what keeps the system working together 👏
The chair is simple… which is why it exposes everything. 👀
Here are 5 things we see all the time:
1. Locking the knees
Takes you out of the movement and into your joints. Keep a slight bend so you can actually control it.
2. Thinking it’s just legs
If your upper body and core aren’t organized, the exercise won’t feel right. It’s always full-body.
3. Letting the spring do the work
The return matters just as much as the press. If you’re not controlling it up, you’re missing half of it.
4. Losing your center
Once your core drops out, everything else starts taking over (hips, shoulders, etc).
5. Chasing reps over control
More range or more reps doesn’t mean better. If you can’t control it, it’s not doing what it’s supposed to.
Simple setup, but not easy if you’re doing it right.
