What does all the blue in the sea have that the sky doesn’t?

Medusas, In this installations, I construct a symbolic field that intertwines the mythological figure of Medusa—as a guardian and bearer of protective power—with the jellyfish, evoked as a “tear of the sea.” Through this hybrid entity, I reflect on the courage and vulnerability embedded in experiences of migration across water.

The fragmentation of the image, built through triangular reflective structures, evokes both the fragility of the journey and the dislocation of identity. I use my own image not as a self-referential gesture, but as a device to embody stories that emerge from the lives of others.

Here, the personal becomes collective, and the image operates as a sensitive archive of memories in transit.

IN / OUT — Patria Series

To leave is to open a wound on the map.
To return is to try to name it.

Between these two gestures, transit exists:
that suspended place where memory weighs
and desire pushes forward.

The circles are not forms,
they are paths—
repetitions of the same,
reflections of who we were
and who we are no longer.

The mirror does not return an image,
it returns questions:

Who returns?
From where?
To what place?

The sea —even when unseen— is present:
as distance,
as risk,
as everything that separates and transforms.

This work is not meant to be observed,
but to be crossed.

Because there are journeys that do not end upon arrival,
and returns that are never complete.
