At Red Rooster Overtown, we believe a restaurant can be so much more than a place to eat.

It can be where history is shared.
Where young people meet role models.
Where neighbors gather.

Where culture is celebrated.

Over the past several weeks, we’ve been honored to welcome the Miami Dolphins rookie class alongside student athletes from our adopted school, Booker T. Washington Senior High School.

We also had the privilege of welcoming Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, City of Miami Mayor Eileen Higgins, community leaders, residents, and visitors to experience the rich history of Overtown through a tour led by the esteemed Dr. Marvin Dunn. Together, we explored significant neighborhood landmarks—including the Overtown Urban Garden and the Ward Rooming House—while reflecting on the enduring history, resilience, and cultural legacy of this remarkable community.

Each gathering looked a little different.

But they all shared one purpose: bringing people together through food, culture, history, and conversation.

Thank you to everyone who continues to make Red Rooster Overtown more than a restaurant. Together, we’re helping ensure that Overtown’s history is not only remembered—but experienced, celebrated, and carried forward.
