Sharing the details of the finished mural I created for .peninsula a festival highlighting 21 species that are Threatened or Endangered in Michigan. Now that the festival is here, I’m excited to finally show the piece.
What made this festival so special was its structure — artists were paired with educators who deeply understand the species we were painting. I collaborated with David Lowry, who shared so much with me about the monkey flower, a rare plant native to Michigan.
Out of the six species I was introduced to, I chose to highlight two — the yellow and purple monkey flowers. These species can grow in a range of conditions, but I focused on their connection to wetland habitats — placing them near water in the mural as a reflection of the fragile ecosystems they depend on.
The mirrored flowers became a symbol of what’s at risk of being washed away… but also of hope, care, and the possibility of renewal when we protect & nurture what matters.
Another aspect of this festival was that artists could choose to be paired with an apprentice. I worked with the great who had never painted a mural before. I walked her through my process from start to finish and showed her the different tools I use along the way — including how to operate the lift. She picked things up quickly and jumped right in.She even painted her own mini mural and totally crushed it. I’m so proud of her.
Huge thanks to the epic .visual and the Pleasant team for creating such a thoughtful and impactful experience. The collaboration with educators — and the opportunity to mentor another artist — made this one of the most meaningful projects I’ve worked on.

Happy new year! Hope you all had a great holiday! I am opening up for commissions! Last time I did this was back in 2021. Work has been wonderful and I have kept myself very busy traveling painting, having a solo show etc. , though the last few months have been tough due to having to help my dad financially after he had to undergo a very serious heart surgery to save his life. Thankfully my dad is alive and doing much better, which I am very grateful for. I am in a bit of a rut at the moment & have time to paint due to work being slow. I know and trust work will begin to flow but in the meantime I am opening back up to cover costs of everyday life until it picks up again.
Here are some sizes and prices of canvases I have available. I have also attached some photos of past commissions I have done for your reference.

Hi friends!
I am doing a studio sale due to moving studios and wanting to make room for new work. Here is a painting I would love to sell that were painted back in 2016 during my month long artist residency in Barcelona, Spain. I put a lot of love into these pieces and they were a big part of my progress as an artist at the time. I still love them though they no longer align with me as a creative and I would love for them to go to a home where they are appreciated.
It is a smaller piece that is 24" x 24" I am open to hearing offers as long as they are over $150. I ask that the shipping is covered by whoever purchases it.
