HUMANE SCHOOL INITIATIVE EVENT. According to the HSI Calendar, January is the month of Animals Used as Entertainment. Since we have been campaigning in support to Lo**ta, The Lonely Orca held captive at Miami Seaquarium, we want to bring awareness to our schools through this suggested activity "Valentines for Lo**ta" an initiative from Peggy Oki from the Origami Whale Project. Today as it is our tradition The Humane Club at Hialeah High had out Turkey-less Vegan Thanksgiving Putlock. We watched one of the videos from Mercy For Animals to be reminded why we chose to have a Turkey-less Thanksgivng Meal, then we gave thanks, we ate and we ended up collecting money to adopt one of these guys from Farm Sanctuary. Today Hialeah High HSI Club did the "Drugs and Addictions" presentation where 17 participants watched the video, learned the facts, and took the pledge. Way to go Hialeah High!
