June was beautifully busy.
I welcomed the first few days of July..and even that heat wave as a chance to ease into the month at a slower pace.

A little time outside, a little time in the kitchen, a few good workouts… exactly how I like it.

Two soups made entirely from what was rescued and what was given. We made quick decisions on our feet, split the vegetables into two pots, and let the ingredients lead the way.

It was an incredible feeling to feed a whole crowd with food that was otherwise headed for the garbage. And the best part? It didn’t take much more than the vegetables themselves. Just a few simple pantry staples, (30 happy volunteer choppers, an immersion blender).. and love!

It’s a good reminder that soup is one of the easiest and most forgiving ways to reduce food waste at home. You don’t need the “perfect” ingredients. Use what’s in your fridge, your garden, or your CSA box…trust your instincts, and measure with your heart.
