The real estate market in three pics 📷 - a classic story of supply and demand. All here in today’s Monday Market Update. How’s your market?? Tell me below in the comments 👇
1.) Look at inventory! All around the country there’s an AVERAGE of 26.8% less housing on the market than last year. This = LOW SUPPLY.
2.) Buyer showing appointments are amazingly high as well. CRUSHING pre-pandemic levels. This shows not only continued steady DEMAND for housing but that there may even be a backlog in demand due to such tight inventory conditions.
3.) What about prices? Well one third variable that people tend to look at is mortgage rates. The more expensive (higher interest) on a mortgage, then the less a buyer can afford therefore prices go down right?
Well, maybe. It’s all relative. That’s why it is a part of the equation. If you look at the average forecast surely housing prices will likely slow their increase. SLOW their INCREASE. But go down? Crash even? Data suggests otherwise.
👉 TAKEAWAY - the trend is your friend. Also, economics 101 still applies in many cases. Supply vs. Demand vs. affordability.
