Enjoy preparing food and making intricate designs to put food on display to not just be eaten? By joining the Army, through enlistment, as Culinary Specialist some of the skills that you will learn are: standard and dietetic menus and recipes, preparation and cooking of various foodstuffs and bakery products, food and supply ordering, and storage of meats, poultry and other perishable items. You will be paid throughout your training and will get actual experience in the field while serving that transitions directly into the civilian sector in a career with cafes, restaurants, cafeterias, hotels, hospitals, manufacturing plants, schools and other organizations that have their own dining facilities. Depending on which specialty you pursue a career as a cook, chef, meat cutter, butcher or baker.

Overview

The culinary specialist is primarily responsible for the preparation and service of food in the field or garrison food service operations.

Job Duties

- Bake, fry, braise, boil, simmer, steam, and sauté as prescribed by Army recipes
- Operate, maintain and clean field kitchen equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance on garrison and field kitchen equipment

Training

Job training for a culinary specialist requires 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and nine weeks of Advanced Individual Training with on-the-job instructions. Part of this time is spent in the classroom and part in the field, including practice in food preparation.

OVERVIEW
A Patriot Fire Control Enhanced Operator/Maintainer operates and maintains one of the world’s most advanced missile systems – Patriot; the center piece weapon system of the Army’s air defense mission against multiple air threats to include ballistic missile, cruise missiles, and aircraft of all types. The 14E is responsible for operating and maintaining the five major parts of the Patriot Fire Control system: Radar Set, Engagement Control Station, Electronic Power Plant, Antenna Mast Group, and Battle Command Post. The 14E Soldier is also responsible for identifying, tracking, and combating those identified threats using a technology advanced interceptor missile that is capable of destroying enemy air threats at a moment’s notice.
JOB DUTIES
• Responsible for the movement and placement of the Patriot Fire Control systems in various locations and environments
• Operate Patriot Fire Control electronic, hydraulic and mechanical components
• Perform maintenance on radar, engagement control, target-identification, and communication systems.
• Evaluate intelligence and identify targets; perform real-time status reporting during combat
• Engage identified enemy targets threatening friendly forces
• Establish and maintain digital, radio, and wire communications networks

TRAINING

A multiple launch rocket system crewmember is responsible for operating and maintaining the entire multiple launch rocket system. They support infantry and tank units by supplementing cannon artillery during combat.
JOB DUTIES
• Drive and maintain the self-propelled launch vehicles
• Reload ammunition and resupply vehicles
• Test and maintain the fire control systems
• Mount radio sets and communication systems in all vehicles
