Mike Miley Playground

If your child plans to participate in any JPRD sport outside of intramurals at Miley (or any other playground), he or she needs to have a JPRD ID. This includes all all-star teams, all tackle football, all track and field and some older age group leagues that have participants from multiple playgrounds. With school being out for the summer, the upcoming ID Days might be convenient for you to take your child to get his or her ID.
Many of you have JPRD IDs. The blue IDs expire at the end of the baseball / softball season, which means you will need a new one beginning with the fall sports season. If you have a red JPRD ID, it is still good for two more years.
Once you get your ID, please bring it to the office at Miley and we will keep it filed with all of the other IDs this way you do not have to worry about keeping track of it and finding it when a coach asks you for it. Whenever an ID is needed for a specific team or activity, the first thing we do is see who's IDs we have on file from that roster. Then we begin the process of making sure everyone else on the roster provides their JPRD ID.
If you are currently on an all-star team or hope to be named to an all-star team in the next week and know you do not have a JPRD ID, you do not have to wait for your coach to tell you to get your ID, you can go own your own and get it this week.
Attached is the schedule for IDs this week and next week (Tuesday and Wednesday 4:00-5:30 and Thursday 5:30-7:00 both weeks). Also in the attached document is a list of what you need to bring to get the ID. Cost is $1 and your child must be present as this is a photo ID and his or her photograph is required.
As always, any questions, please email me at [email protected].

5 and 6 year old baseball finished their season this evening. The growth and development were primary themes throughout the season. The white and gold teams are not pictured as I had to get to the other field to get their awards distributed at the same time. If anyone has photos of the white and gold teams, please email them to me ([email protected]).
Baseball season is winding down. Playoffs are either starting or will start soon in all leagues. Your individual coaches know the playoff schedules and will inform you when your team will be playing if they have not already done so. Please understand that we are at the mercy of the weather and will continue to do our best to get all games played in a timely and most importantly safe manner.
At the conclusion of each championship game we will announce the All-Star team for that league as part of the championship awards ceremony. All of these ceremonies will take place in the gym. This allows for everyone to be able to sit comfortably and hear the announcements more clearly. We would like all players to attend the championship game and ceremony for their league, whether they are participating in the game or not. This develops a sense of community, sportsmanship and friendship that will long outlive any single competition.
Here are the dates and times for all the championship games (weather permitting):
5-6: Thursday, June 11 regularly scheduled game times at JJC Law Gym Field and Main Office Field (Award Ceremony following each game at the field)
