A new study has found that customers and business leaders are at odds over the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in customer service. Customers prefer to interact with human agents, while business leaders are focused on the efficiency of AI.
The study, conducted by Intradiem, a company that provides contact center automation solutions, found that 70% of customers would prefer to speak to a human agent when they have a complex issue. Only 30% of business leaders said that they would prefer to use AI for complex customer interactions.
The study also found that customers are more likely to be satisfied with their customer service experience if they interact with a human agent. 60% of customers said that they were satisfied with their experience after speaking to a human agent, compared to only 40% of customers who said that they were satisfied with their experience after interacting with an AI chatbot.
