This is a logbook from Harvard with a moth taped to a page, an example of a literal computer bug. Nobody is quite sure where the term “bug” in machinery (meaning a small flaw) came from. The term was used as far back as the 1870s, for example, Thomas Edison referred to bugs in his electrical circuits.
