Great showing at the NASA booth for the 2013 ITSEC event last week. We showed the data capture recorded from the recent SISO Smackdown event in Unity. We also added the Leap Motion feature to allow booth visitors to interact with the lunar simulation. Success'
Partners, SCS and SISO will host SimSmackDown at springsiM’. This unique inter-university international experience,in its 3rd year, allows student teams to learn simulation interoperability by doing it. SimSmackDown breaks-down barriers to simulation employment, supporting job readiness, as students build and test models, work together across time zones on a simulated lunar mission. SimSmackDown is unfunded and employ-driven. It provides faculty and students with free industry software, standards, NASA content and conference registration. Simulation professionals from Aegis Technologies, ForwardSim, MAK, Pitch, BDMA, NASA, SISO and SCS serve as mentors. The 9 teams, are from France, Germany, Italy, South Korea, the UK and US ( UAH , MIT, Nebraska, Penn State). springsiM’encourages everyone, including potential employers to meet and help the students as they set-up, test and troubleshhot on April 8-9 in ROOM and to take part April 10 at 8:30-10 am. in tthis adventure of virtually moving off the planet.
The intern opportunity in the OSSI (NASA's One Stop Shopping Initiative) system will be published this week for the 2013 Summer Internship at the Kennedy Space Center. The title of the opportunity is Tribal Colleges and Universities M&S Life Cycle Design.
The Smackdown name has changed from "SISO" Smackdown to "Simulation" Smackdown. I am working to change the name on the cover picture on this page.
