Just a reminder of the Merrill Police Benevolent Association concert TONIGHT at the Merrill High School Auditorium. Doors open at 6pm and concert starts at 7pm. Tickets will be available at the door as well. Hope to see you there!

During National Police Week, May 15th is designated as National Peace Officers Memorial Day. Signed into law in 1962 by President John F. Kennedy, it serves as a lasting tribute to the Peace Officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

Captain Elmer Krueger was shot in the line of duty on July 12th 1952 and succumbed to his injuries on July 19th, 1952. Captain Krueger remains the only Officer from the Merrill Police Department to have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

Please take a moment today to remember the sacrifice that Captain Krueger and all of the law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty have made.

This week is Administrative Professionals Week and we have 3 of the absolute best! They are the first responders of our front office and often the first people you work with when you stop in or call us direct. They process nearly everything that is produced, stored, or that leaves this office. It’s quite amazing the volume of work that they handle and manage. Thank you Jenny, Marci, and Heather for your contributions to the City of Merrill. We couldn’t do it without you!

The Merrill Police Department is looking for qualified, dependable, and coachable candidates for the position of Police Officer to fill two vacancies (one conditionally filled). Currently, and in the next few years, a significant number of the Department's officers and staff will be within the retirement window. This is a huge opportunity for individual and organizational growth as the department evolves over the next decade.
