Good morning! We have a good amount of information in this post.
- First off, attached is our pool calendar for the month of December.
- Second, we are beginning the process of setting up our winter swim programs! This includes courses such as our Winter Swim Lessons, Aqua Adaptive Swim, and Parent & Child. There will be more information coming out throughout the month both on the page here and on our district website about dates and registrations.
- Finally, with the winter season starting, we want to remind everyone of the procedures regarding inclement weather and other emergency closures. The pool may sometimes make the decision to close or cancel BEFORE the district makes an official school closure. JUST BECAUSE THE POOL MAKES THE DECISION TO CLOSE, THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT THE REST OF THE DISTRICT WILL CLOSE OR CANCEL ANYTHING. For example, with lap swim occurring so early in the morning, our lifeguards would have already had to travel in the hazardous weather to arrive at the pool to open BEFORE an official closure might be announced. In cases like this, we may make the decision to close the pool the night before to be on the safe side. There may be some occasions where the pool makes the decision to close but the district does not. With that being said, PLEASE check our online calendar that is available 24/7 with any changes that may occur. Thank you for your understanding!

Good morning,
We wanted to remind everyone of some of the upcoming courses the pool is still offering this summer! There are only 2 swim sessions left in the summer (Session 3 and Session 4) before we wrap up our Summer 2024 Swim Lessons. The Aqua Adaptive as well as the Parent & Child courses will be available starting in late July and those can be registered for using the attached link. We also still have lap swim in the mornings, Aqua Aerobics on Tuesday evenings and lots of open swim times from early afternoons all the way to later in the evenings. Stop on by whenever you are available and check out what our pool has to offer!

Hello everyone!
We wanted to keep everyone up to date on a f***l incident today at our MAPS pool. During our morning Swim Lessons, a small formed piece of stool was found in the shallow end of the pool. The pool was cleared and equipment in the area was taken out to be sanitized. The chemicals were tested immediately after the accident and checked throughout this process. Chemicals are kept at a higher level throughout swim levels in case of this exact type of incident. The guards did an amazing job in assisting the students transition out of the water while the pool supervisors stepped up to their roles to handle the situation. Incoming parents and students were informed of the accident as they arrived and were free to opt out of today’s lessons if they wished to. Our Certified Pool Operator and Aquatics Director were already on scene to begin the process right away.
For this type of AFR, the procedure is to:
- Remove as much of the stool as possible with scoop or net
- Raise the chlorine levels to at least 2.0 ppm (parts per million) (we maintain 3.0 or higher throughout swim lessons)
- Bring pH levels to 7.5 or lower (we maintain 7.4)
- Bring pool temp to 77 degrees Fahrenheit or higher (we maintain levels at 82 degrees)
- Maintain these levels for at least 25 minutes before reopening (we waited 30 min)
Emails to the parents/guardians of the session will be sent out unless it is a Friday (Central Office is closed on Fridays) along with this Facebook message. We will always communicate as best as we can with our community.
Thank you for your patience and understanding!
