Changes implemented to downtown Meridian intersection

Motorists are advised that the City of Meridian has implemented changes to the intersection of 22nd Avenue and Front Street downtown.
Vehicles traveling eastbound on Front Street through the 22nd Avenue intersection will now use the left lane to continue eastbound on Front Street, Senior Project Manager Gabe Faggard of Neel-Schaffer Inc., said. The right lane is now designated for right turns only.
Additional striping has been placed along the approach to the intersection to aide motorists in determining the proper lane to use, Faggard said. Modifications to the traffic signal will be implemented in coming weeks in an effort to ease afternoon congestion along Front Street.
