If your review replies disappeared today, your profile is fine.

Google is working through a bug that hides owner replies on Business Profiles. Replies still exist, they just aren't displaying when you're logged in. Log out or open an incognito window and they show up. Google Product Experts have confirmed Google is aware.

What to do: nothing.

Don't re-reply. Don't edit your profile. Duplicate replies will stack up once the fix lands.

This is the third review-related bug on Google Business Profiles in recent weeks. It's a reminder that your Google presence needs someone watching it. Most owners wouldn't know if their replies vanished. We would.

24 THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT LOCAL SEO

1. Your Google Business Profile matters more than your website. Customers find you on the map before they reach your site.

2. Review count is the strongest signal in the map pack. Reviews from the last 90 days carry the most weight.

3. There is no magic number of reviews. You need more than the businesses ranking above you.

4. An exact match business name is a real advantage. Google rewards relevance.

5. Category, address, consistent citations, regular updates, and review velocity make up most of the algorithm.

6. Set your primary category to your highest revenue service. Match the category of the businesses in the top three.

7. A profile without a verified address rarely ranks. In most markets, verification comes first.

8. One page cannot rank for every city you serve. Each service area needs its own page.

9. Location pages have to be truly local. Swapping the city name into the same content no longer works.

10. Your homepage title should never say "Home." Put the service and the city in it.

11. Lead with the keyword in your title. Terms at the front carry more weight.

12. Your H1 should name the service and the location. Not your slogan.

13. URLs should say what the page is about. /dallas-roof-replacement beats /services.

14. Links still carry weight. As AI floods the web with content, links are how Google separates real businesses from generated ones.

15. The best links come from your own backyard. Chambers, sponsorships, suppliers, local charities. Take the local link even when the domain looks small.

16. Most of your links should point to your homepage with your business name as the anchor. It reads as natural because it is.

17. Exact match anchor text can hurt you. Branded anchors are safer and stronger.

18. Citations still count. Real businesses show up on Yelp, BBB, and YellowPages. Google checks.

19. NAP consistency is not optional. Same name, address, and phone everywhere, including your website footer.

20. Google uses hundreds of ranking factors. A handful drive most of the result. Focus there.

21. Most technical SEO does little for local businesses. Indexing and 404 errors are the two worth watching.

22. Ranking difficulty is not about city size or ticket price. It comes down to how seriously your competitors take SEO.

23. AI search reads your Google Business Profile and your reviews. Build the profile for Google's AI answers. Build links to earn mentions in ChatGPT and Claude.

24. Every profile update should include the service and the city. Every time.
