The Mississippi National Guard Counterdrug Program is constantly evolving to stay a step ahead of transnational criminal organizations. Our team recently executed a joint professional development event focused on emerging asymmetric threats in the counter-narcotics fight.

🌊 Port Security: At the USM Marine Research Center in Gulfport, we evaluated Unmanned Maritime Systems (UMS) and marine sensors. Drug trafficking organizations are increasingly using uncrewed tech and waterways to move illicit narcotics. We are developing the defensive tactics and procedures to detect and intercept them.

💻 Digital Disruption: We also visited the MSU-led Mississippi Cyber Center. By leveraging advanced AI and cyber training, our analysts are expanding their capabilities to track, target, and disrupt the digital and financial networks that enable drug trafficking.

We are leveraging next-generation technology to protect our communities.

The Regional Counterdrug Training Academy RCTA is honored to attend the 15th Annual Southern California Gang Conference in San Diego, California. This conference continues to bring together law enforcement professionals, investigators, analysts, and public safety leaders from across the nation to strengthen partnerships, share intelligence, and collaborate on today’s evolving criminal threats. Topics include gang investigations, drug cartels, undercover operations, officer wellness, organized crime, and contemporary criminal enterprises.

Events like this are more than training opportunities; they are critical spaces for networking, relationship-building, and creating partnerships that strengthen public safety efforts nationwide. The ability to connect with agencies from different regions allows us to exchange ideas, discuss best practices, and build unified strategies to combat criminal organizations impacting our communities.

The Regional Counterdrug Training Academy appreciates the opportunity to be part of such a respected event and looks forward to continuing to build meaningful partnerships that support law enforcement professionals and the communities we serve.
