Shout out to my husband, Jim, as he is back to school in Meridian, Mississippi. He is teaching at Northeast Lauderdale Middle School I think this is his 34th year. How is that possible?

Today is a day when all Americans celebrate the highest achievement in professional football. And this year, some very influential women are shining their own light on the game. It makes me ponder, why don’t we celebrate their light everyday of the year. Let’s recognize the gifts of every woman.

Let’s lift each other up every day. Be the person who recognizs how your mother raised a family with next to nothing. Thank your teacher for showing up everyday to teach little ones to read. And what about the college graduates who landed their first job? Encourage them to never give up and find that way to succeed.

Find the light. LET IT SHINE!
