Structured Cabling – Lead Technician

Job Description:

Full time experienced structured cabling lead technician with a minimum 4 years in our industry installing commercial voice, data, fiber optic, CCTV, and security cabling systems. Individual will be responsible for co-ordination of your team with subcontractors and vendors. Follow industry standards for installation, termination, testing, and labeling. Must have a great work ethic and experience mentoring less skilled team members in a positive manner.

Pay Rate - Competitive DOE, and consistent with experience

These qualifications a plus:

Security Camera / Access Control installations / Copper /Fiber certifications with manufactures or
BICSI / OSHA training

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Must be an exceptional team player and with good communication skills; oral and written
• Quality workmanship to meet Company standards
• Proficient in proper installation, termination and testing of solutions installed
• Install various types of raceway and cable tray, including conduit
• Operate company copper and fiber optic testing equipment
• Proficient in trouble shooting, both copper and fiber optic installations (camera & access controls)
• Help manage materials, tools and equipment
• Complete paperwork accurately and in a timely manner (timesheets, material, service orders)
• Other responsibilities as assigned

Requirements:

• Represent Company professionally and be an enthusiastic/ reliable team player
• Follow safety rules and requirements
• Must have technical and mechanical aptitude
• Great attitude a must
• Organized, punctual and motivated self-starter
• Must have ability to quickly learn new skills
• Proper use of all tools and equipment necessary to perform assigned tasks
• Must be able to lift 40-50lbs and perform twist and turning movements while working off ladders and lifts
• Respond quickly and effectively while multi-tasking
• Pass pre-employment and random drug screening and a criminal background check
• Continually pass required background checks to work on customer sites
• Maintain valid driver’s license
