Here is something we've been working toward for a long time, and we are genuinely excited to share it with you.

For years, JayMarc was primarily a spec builder, and we were proud of that work. We also built custom homes alongside it, and the more we did, the more we noticed something: families building custom were largely on their own. The process was complicated, the decisions were constant, and most builders expected clients to keep up rather than helping them feel prepared. The custom home industry has no shortage of talented builders. What it has far too few of is builders who truly mentor their clients through the process and make it something worth remembering. We saw that gap, and we knew we were the right team to fill it.

So we made a decision. We are now focused primarily on custom homebuilding.

From time to time, you may still see a for-sale home from us. But when you hear the name JayMarc Custom Homes, we want you to know exactly what we stand for: a builder who walks beside your family through one of the biggest decisions of your lives, from the very first conversation to long after you have moved in.

We have a new name, a new look, and a brand-new website that reflects it all. We hope you take a few minutes to look around. www.jaymarchomes.com

"We want to build, but we're not quite ready."

We hear this from families all the time, and it makes complete sense. Building a custom home is one of the biggest decisions you'll ever make. Of course you want to feel prepared.

But here's something worth knowing: waiting and planning are not the same thing.

When you wait without planning, market conditions shift, budgets drift, and permitting timelines stack up quietly in the background. By the time you're ready to move forward, you may find yourself making decisions under pressure that you could have made thoughtfully months earlier.

Early planning gives you financial clarity, site insight, and design confidence, all without committing to construction before you're ready.

We just published an article walking through exactly what early planning looks like, why it matters, and how JayMarc helps families prepare without pressure.

If you're thinking about building a custom home in the Greater Seattle area, this one's worth your time.

Saving Time, Money, and Stress with Preconstruction | JayMarc Homes 02/11/2026

Picture this: You're six months into your custom home build. Your builder calls and says, "We need another $75K because we didn't account for the drainage issues."

Or: "We need to pause construction while you choose your tile because we didn't finalize selections before framing."

Or: "The permits got rejected because the plans weren't complete."

These aren't construction problems. They're planning problems. And they're completely preventable.

At JayMarc Custom Homes, we spend months in preconstruction (the Discovery, Design, and Define phases), so these surprises don't happen. We identify site challenges early, finalize selections before bidding, and submit complete permit packages the first time.

It's not the exciting part of building a custom home. But it's the part that protects your investment, your timeline, and your peace of mind.

We just published an in-depth look at our preconstruction process and exactly what happens before we break ground.

If you're considering a custom home in the Greater Seattle area (or just curious about how this all works), give it a read.
