👋 Meet Lex Giron.
He grew up on the streets of Guatemala, then immigrated to the U.S., where he began to struggle with addiction. ❤️🩹
So Giron turned to The Salvation Army for help.
🙏Now, Giron and his wife serve as Salvation Army officers, leading ministries for Spanish-speakers in communities across the western U.S. and beyond.

🎬️ Armed with a smartphone and racks of donated fashion, Salvation Army staff go live five days a week on Whatnot-- a livestream shopping platform-- auctioning off unique clothes, bags and accessories to online thrifters.
"The livestream auctions build on what our thrift stores are already doing-- bringing in funding that helps sustain our Adult Rehabilitation Centers (ARCs)," said Piers Fairclough, ARC Director of Business, noting livestreams have generated more than $600,000 since launching. 🙏

☀️The ultimate 90’s summer trades screens for trees.
At Salvation Army summer camps across the nation, thousands of kids are leaving their phones behind to climb ropes courses, take hikes, sing campfire songs and learn they are loved. ❤️
🏕️”Camp provides a safe space for young people to get away from the craziness of their daily lives and to learn there is a God that loves them no matter what,” said David Schwarm, director of The Salvation Army’s High Peak Camp in Estes Park, Colorado.

☝️At first glance, it’s a senior nutrition program—a hot meal at lunch, and now breakfast at some sites. Step inside Club 60 on a weekday, though, and you’ll find something more: tables filled with conversation, staff and volunteers greeting seniors by name, and participants lingering long after the meal ends.
“We don’t just want to feed people; we want to really see them. We want to know their name and their story,” said Theron Ross, Salvation Army Director of Senior Nutrition for San Diego County. ❤️
🙏Across the county, The Salvation Army’s Club 60 program has supported older adults for decades. Today, it operates across multiple sites, reaching some 1,600 older adults each week.
